NEW student arrival & dismissal procedures @ SAS

In the past couple of years, we have begun to notice a trend of more families choosing to utilize our parent drop off and pick up area located on the right side of the school. This has caused the traffic to increase substantially along the side of Scotchtown Ave causing a bottle neck and making parts of the road impassable to other drivers causing potential hazardous conditions for our buses and families trying to enter the school.

In an effort to ensure the safe arrival and dismissal of our students, we have partnered with the Goshen Village Police Department to update our student drop off and pick up procedures. While we know that any change in procedures can be challenging at first, we hope that you understand we are trying a new procedure to ensure an expedited and safe arrival and dismissal of our students.

Arrival Directions

To move the traffic off of Scotchtown Ave, we will be moving the location of student drop off to Goshen High School. If you are choosing to drop your child(ren) off at SAS we now ask you to review the following guidelines:

  • Arrive between 8:45-9:10 a.m. to drop your child(ren) off
  • Make a right or left off of Scotchtown Ave. onto the high school driveway
  • Follow the drive up to the high school
  • Make a left into the first parking lot
  • Circle around the lot
  • Pull up to the far side of the school to the bus which will be waiting for students
  • Please do not exit your vehicle, SAS staff members will assist your child(ren) from exiting the car
  • All students will load onto our transfer bus which will be supervised by SAS staff
  • Once your child has exited your vehicle, you will exit the lot and follow the driveway back to Scotchtown Ave.
  • At 9:10 a.m., the bus will depart the high school and safely transport students and staff to SAS
  • If you arrive after 9:10 a.m., you will have to wait for all the buses to dismiss from SAS and then you
can drop your child off at the main office.

NOTE* Please know that students arriving after our 9:10 a.m. start time, will be marked tardy.

Dismissal Directions

Just like with morning drop off, the location of student pick up will be at Goshen High School. When you pick up your child(ren) please use the following guidelines:

  • Make a right or left off of Scotchtown Ave. onto the high school driveway
  • Follow the drive up to the high school
  • Make a left into the first parking lot
  • Circle around the lot
  • Pull up to the far side of the school and the bus will arrive with the students there
  • Students will arrive at the HS for dismissal at 3:20 p.m.
  • When you arrive, you will tell a staff member from SAS your child(ren)’s name(s) and they will get your child off the bus
  • Please make sure you have photo ID available
  • Once your child has entered your vehicle, you will exit the lot and follow the driveway back to Scotchtown Ave.

NOTE* If you do not send notification through School Dismissal Manager that you will be picking up your child, your child will NOT be placed on the bus. If this occurs you will have to wait until the buses exit SAS and pick up your child from the main office at approximately 3:45 p.m.
