This week’s spotlight is on Goshen High School Math Teacher Shannon Bernhardt, an educator who has been with the district for almost a year.
Before joining the Goshen Central School District in January 2023, Bernhardt studied at SUNY New Paltz. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Deaf Studies as well as a master’s degree in Adolescent Education with a concentration in mathematics.
The new math teacher said she is most looking forward to getting involved community, and that she chose Goshen because of the impact it makes every day.
“The students and staff are the best,” Bernhardt said. “This district facilitates a warm, welcoming, and driven community.”
Bernhardt said her goal for the year is to make math more enjoyable and accessible for a wide variety of students.
Outside work, the educator said she likes to go to the gym, read, color/paint, line dance, and try new foods.
Thank you so much for all you do, Shannon Bernhardt! We appreciate you!
