#FacultyFriday: Jackie LaCosta

This week’s spotlight is on Goshen High School Special Education Aide Jackie LaCosta, who has been working with the district for three years.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Coastal Carolina University, and has had experience in both the veterinary field and hospitality industry before joining the Goshen Central School District in 2020.

A Goshen local, LaCosta said she is proud to have graduated from the high school — and that her link to the schools is part of what brought her back to serve the next generation.

“I love the connections I have with each student individually,” she said, “and I love to see them succeed.”

LaCosta said she is most looking forward to watching her students graduate in the spring.

Outside work, the GHS aide enjoys horseback riding, a hobby she has cultivated since she was 6 years old.

“Now I enjoy the sport with my daughter, Carolina,” she said.

BONUS FACTS: The Goshen native’s favorite food is anything Italian.

“I married into an Italian family that KNOWS how to cook,” she said.

And if she could travel back to any time period, LaCosta would love to go back to meet her great-grandparents back in Holland.

“They lived through WWII while raising a family,” she said.

Thank you for all you do Jackie LaCosta! We appreciate you!
