#FacultyFriday: Danielle Cavagnaro

This week’s spotlight is on a C.J. Hooker Middle School academic intervention service math teacher, Danielle Cavagnaro, who is finishing up her first year in the district.

Before joining the Goshen family, Cavagnaro worked as a reading teacher for grades K-2 in Monticello and as a math teacher for grades 6-8 in Middletown.

Cavagnaro earned her Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oneonta in 2021 and is certified in Childhood Education (1-6). She is currently working on a master’s degree for Middle Grades Mathematics (5-9).

Aside from being an Orange County native and graduate from Monroe-Woodbury High School, the math teacher said working at Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School a few summers ago drew her in to explore a career in Goshen.

“I fell in love with the district and town,” Cavagnaro said.

Her goals are to help students who struggle with math become more confident, and she most looks forward to making connections with students and watching them grow and learn throughout the year.

Outside work, Cavagnaro enjoys going to football, hockey and baseball games, as well as being outdoors and watching movies.

BONUS FACTS: When asked about her favorite food, the CJH teacher emphatically said, “Nachos!” because they are so versatile.

“As a kid, I would always make nachos and change the toppings on them,” she said.

If she could travel back in time to meet anyone from history, the teacher said she would want to meet Steve Jobs.

“I would pick his brain on how he came up with the idea of Apple,” said Cavagnaro.

Welcome to the district, Danielle Cavagnaro, and thank you for all you do! We appreciate you!
