C.J. Hooker Middle School has taken the time to recognize the Students of the Month. These students illustrate the following characteristics that CJH looks for in their school community:
- Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
- Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
- Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
- Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
- Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.
Grade 6
1. Mia Nywening is the 6th Grade Yellow Team’s Student of the Month! Mia is a kind and helpful student who always puts in her best effort. She’s a hard worker who tackles challenges with a positive attitude and encourages others to do their best. Mia’s dedication and positivity make her an important part of our classroom community, and we’re so proud of her accomplishments!
2. Charlotte Gottlieb is an outstanding student who goes above and beyond to show kindness and courtesy to everyone she meets. She leads by example with her positive attitude and consistently helps create a welcoming environment for her classmates. Whether holding the door open for others or offering a kind word of encouragement, Charlotte has become a role model among her peers. Her dedication to her studies and her genuine care for others makes her truly deserving of being the Purple Team’s Student of the Month.
3. Kaiden Santiago comes into the classroom each day with a bright smile and a joyful attitude that lifts everyone’s spirits. He has a great sense of humor that helps create a positive and welcoming environment for both classmates and teachers. Thank you for spreading so much joy, especially with your fidgets! We are happy to pick Kaiden as the Maroon Team Student of the Month. Keep up the great work!
Special Areas:
Molly Hahn is the Special Area team’s student of the month! Molly is courteous, friendly, and polite. She is always positive and supportive in her actions to others and is a great conversationalist if you ask her questions or chat with her. Her classwork is up-to-date, she participates in discussions, and is an excellent student. She is also an active member of the library garden club. Congratulations on this honor, Molly – well deserved!
Grade 7
1. Will Arteaga is a mature, hardworking and dedicated student who always strives to do his best work. He is always prepared for class and is proactive about any questions he may have. Will has a quiet, but charismatic demeanor, which is evident to both his peers and teachers. He is considerate when a friend needs a helping hand, friendly and always very respectful. 2. Ayooluwapo Folami is a student who goes above and beyond expectations. Ayo is meticulous in her academics and holds herself to a high standard of excellence. She is engaged, diligent, and a natural leader. Ayo comes to class each day with a positive attitude and a huge smile. Her bright personality and kind nature make her a standout student to her teachers, as well as a respected and valued peer. 3. Dalaney Sagendorph has been selected as the Student of the Month for November 2024! Dalaney’s friendly and caring nature truly stands out, making her a role model among her peers. She consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and maintains good grades, all while being a helpful participant in small group activities. Chloe McLeod embodies the qualities of Student of the Month through her exceptional leadership and dedication in the classroom. Grade 8
1. Daniela Gomez-Redondo is an incredibly kind, respectful student. She comes to class with a positive attitude, a cheerful smile, and is always willing to help others. Daniela is committed to academic success; she has an ethical moral compass and completes her work carefully and on time. Daniela’s thoughtfulness and kindness towards her peers and teachers should be commended, therefore it is a pleasure to nominate her for Student of the Month. Congratulations, Daniela!
2. Julianna Loftus is an ambitious, highly capable, and diligent student who strives for excellence. She is respectful, kind, and genuine with a positive attitude and infectious smile. She is inquisitive, hardworking and always motivated to do her best for her own improvement and she enjoys the ability to help others. She is an engaged and excellent participant in class discussions and is an asset to all of her classes.
