Christina Oliveras, Goshen’s Athletics secretary, has been selected as the recipient of the New York State Athletic Administrators Association Judith A. Martens Secretarial Award of Excellence for Section IX this year.
This award is presented to a secretary of an athletic administrator in each section who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to athletics at the local level for a minimum of five years.
“I am thankful to be part of a team of dedicated coaches, athletic directors and athletic secretaries,” said Oliveras. “Each day in this position is centered on how to make things better for our student-athletes.
“To be acknowledged by my coaches, administrators and the community of high school athletics in this way is truly an honor,” she said.
Goshen Athletics Director George St. Lawrence said he is happy to recognize the positivity, dedication and compassion Oliveras shows every day.
“Christina demonstrates an unyielding personal commitment to help others,” he said. “She has an exceptional work ethic, which is accompanied by her can-do attitude. She services as a positive change agent who is highly respected by her peers throughout Section IX athletics.”
Oliveras also has a passion for helping students and a strong ability to problem-solve in stressful situations.
“This makes her an asset not only to Section IX, but to Goshen High School as well,” said St. Lawrence.
