C.J. Hooker student wins the Orange-Ulster Spelling Bee!

Eight-grader Cora Massaro won the 2025 Orange-Ulster Spelling Bee! This record-breaking achievement took place over the course of twenty-four rounds, including six championship rounds, and lasted over two hours! Cora now gets to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee which is held in Washington DC in May.

Goshen was also represented by seventh grade participant, Luke Hand, who completed five rounds and made it to the final six, spelling some impressive words like “fission” and “anatomical.” Congratulations, Luke on a strong performance!

Congratulations, Cora! We can’t wait to see you move onto the national stage!
