C.J. Hooker Students of the Month – February 2025


Eleven students stand together in the hallway of the C.J. Hooker middle school with certificates recognizing their accomplishments of being named students of the month. They are under a sign that reads your future is bright.

C.J. Hooker has taken the time to recognize their Students of the Month. These students illustrate the following characteristics that the school community looks for:

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

  1. Sergio Espinosa Perez is a well-behaved student who always completes his assignments and homework. He is friendly, courteous, and nice to his teachers and peers. Sergio always tries his best in everything he does. He is also cooperative and engaged in lessons.
  2. Abigail Thampi is kind, hardworking, and dedicated to learning. She is an engaged and enthusiastic participant in class who is willing to take on challenges with a positive attitude. Her perseverance and love for learning make her a role model for her classmates. Congratulations on earning Student of the Month, Abigail!
  3. Kayann Alatevi from the Yellow Team is a fantastic choice for Student of the Month! She is an outstanding student who consistently demonstrates maturity, responsibility, and intelligence in everything she does. Kayann is not only dedicated to her own success but also goes out of her way to support her classmates with kindness and encouragement. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic make her an excellent role model for her peers. The Yellow Team is lucky to have such a hardworking and thoughtful student, and we are proud to recognize her achievements!
  4. Alexander Ferrara from the Maroon Team is a wonderful choice for Student of the Month! He has shown incredible dedication to academic success, always striving to improve and never backing down from a challenge. Through hard work, perseverance, and a strong commitment to learning, Alex sets an inspiring example for others. His determination and drive prove that success comes to those who put in the effort. We are proud to recognize Alex for his outstanding commitment—keep up the great work!
Special Areas

Madelyn Hoffman is a fantastic member of the 6th Grade Band and a wonderful student. She was selected for Orange County Music Educators Association Elementary All-County Band this year! Maddie is a hard worker that is kind and caring. She is a great role model for others as she leads by example. Her dedication to her schoolwork is easily seen through her success. Congratulations to Madelyn!

Grade 7

  1. Henry Lucas is a dedicated student who is consistent and reliable. He comes to class each day prepared and ready to learn, and even more impressively, seems genuinely happy to be there. Henry exemplifies the type of student who does the right thing without hesitation and with no expectation of recognition. He is a supportive classmate; showing kindness and respect to everyone in the school community. Henry- your work ethic, authenticity, and strong character, make you a pleasure to know and be around. Congratulations on the much deserved recognition as our Student of the Month!
  2. Julia Cofi is a kind and considerate young lady, who often displays a notably thoughtful and generous nature. She is both inquisitive and hard-working. She is also open to feedback, in order to do the best work possible. Julia’s compassionate nature makes her easy to be around. Congratulations, Julia, on being selected as a February Student of the Month!
Special Areas:

Olivia Altman consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, ensuring she completes her tasks with diligence and care. Beyond her academic responsibilities, she generously allocates time to assist her peers, often putting their needs before her own. Her mature character is evident in her willingness to sacrifice personal rewards for the benefit of others, showcasing a remarkable level of empathy and kindness. Olivia’s commitment to helping others succeed not only enhances her own growth but also enriches the classroom environment. Her positive influence inspires those around her, making her an exemplary model of responsibility and compassion.

Grade 8

  1. Alexander Schuler is an intelligent, responsible and hardworking student. He is personable, friendly and polite and gets along well with adults and his peers alike. He is a good participant in class who demonstrates excellent understanding of content material. Alexander is inquisitive, attentive and determined to achieve his best. He sets a good example for others and is a great addition to all of his classes.
  2. Caiden Gerstner is a responsible, respectful, and diligent student. He always comes to class prepared and regularly strives for academic excellence. He is cooperative and kind and will offer to lend a helping hand to others. Caiden serves as an excellent role model for others and should be commended for his efforts. Congratulations to Caiden!
Special Areas:

Reagan Karchner is a great student who really tries her best. She is kind, caring, and helps others whenever she can. She is attentive and often can be counted on to participate and join into any class discussion, adding great insight. Her strong work ethic and persistence results in amazing work in all areas, especially in art. Her work continues to be exceptional and I hope it continues to expand! Congratulations Reagan!
