The Goshen High School was awarded the NYSPHSAA School of Distinction to recognize the academic successes of its student-athletes.

Goshen High School athletes were recognized for their academic accomplishments by the New York State Public High School Athletics Association (NYSPHSAA).

NYSPHSAA awarded GHS, only one of 114 schools in the state, with its School of Distinction award.

“This achievement reflects the pride, spirit and tradition of success within the Goshen Central School District,” Director of Athletics George St. Lawrence said. “I am honored to have witnessed our dedicated student-athletes who excelled both in the classroom and on the playing fields this past year.”

In order to be recognized as a School of Distinction, 100 percent of Goshen’s 2023-24 varsity teams had to qualify as a Scholar-Athlete team during their respective seasons. This means that every varsity team had at least 75 percent of its average GPA be equal to or greater than 90 percent.

“Thank you to the teachers, coaches, support staff, administration and the Board of Education for collectively contributing to this achievement,” added St. Lawrence.
