#FacultyFriday: Susan Trieste

This week we are featuring a Goshen High School special education teacher, Susan Trieste, a faculty member who has been with the district for almost five years.

Trieste taught at Minisink Valley Middle School in Johnson and Bishop Dunn Memorial School in Newburgh before joining Goshen in 2019. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, her master’s degree in Special Education from Mount St. Mary College. She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas Aquinas College.

The teacher said she chose to come to Goshen because of its great reputation.

“The students and faculty are welcoming, and it’s just the right size-not too big, not too small,” Trieste said. “It’s truly a family atmosphere.”

Her goals are to provide the best education possible, she said, and she most looks forward to the musicals and concert performances each year.

Outside work, Trieste enjoys playing guitar, singing, writing and reading good books.

BONUS FACT: When asked about her favorite food, Trieste said, “I like just about everything, but especially Italian and Japanese food.”

Thank you for all you do, Susan Trieste! We appreciate you!
