A solar eclipse occurred on Monday, April 8 this year and the Goshen community was able to see the sun partially covered by the moon between 2 and 3 p.m.
Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School students created paper hats to commemorate the occasion, and teachers alternated taking their classes outside at various points from the beginning of the eclipse through the time of maximum coverage visible before dismissal.
Many students had the opportunity to use eclipse glasses and see the phenomenon for the very first time with their classmates.
