BOE Community Roundtable: Monday 3/18


The Board of Education will be hosting a Community Roundtable on Monday, March 18, 2024, in the District Administration Building from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The purpose of this event is to allow community members to bring ideas, thoughts, and questions forward for potential prospective improvements to programs within the District.

What to Expect

  • The roundtable will run for one hour.
  • The program will be moderated and facilitated by Kerri Stroka, Deputy Superintendent from Orange Ulster BOCES.
  • Attendees who wish to share ideas, thoughts, or questions at the microphone will be asked to sign in upon arrival.
  • Mrs. Stroka will call individuals to the microphone in the order in which their names appear on the sign-in list.
  • Limits may be placed on the time allotted for each participant based upon the number of attendees.
  • BOCES will assist in recordkeeping from the event and provide a written report back to the District.
  • If a procedural question can be addressed during the session, it will be directed to the proper District representative to do so. 
  • Questions about specific staff or students cannot and will not be addressed.  

Board of Education Responsibilities

  • The role of the Board of Education during this session is primarily to observe. The Board is responsible for developing policy for the District and not for general operations and administration.
  • Any questions pertaining to aspects of district operations that are shared with the Board will be directed to the proper district personnel for a potential response.

District Personnel Responsibilities

  • District personnel will, as directed by the moderator, respond to questions fielded to them. Questions about specific staff or students cannot and will not be addressed.
  • Questions that may require a more lengthy response will be collected and responded to by the appropriate personnel by email or phone at a later date.
