CJH names January Students of the Month

The C.J. Hooker Middle School announced its Students of the Month for January. Students of the Month are:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do;
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals;
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words;
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work; and
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

We are thrilled to announce Betty Collado as the Student of the Month for the 6th Grade Yellow Team. Betty’s exceptional participation, positive attitude, and kindness make her a standout member of our community. She consistently demonstrates outstanding academic performance, coupled with a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. Betty’s caring nature and willingness to support her peers create a welcoming and inclusive environment within our classroom. Her dedication to excellence, coupled with her unwavering positivity, truly make her deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Betty, on this well-deserved honor!

Annabel Scanlon is a kind, considerate, and hardworking young lady. She is always ready with a smile and a compliment to brighten someone’s day. She is an engaged learner who has worked hard and shown tremendous growth this year. Her work ethic, positive attitude and friendly demeanor make her a wonderful role model who is truly deserving to be recognized as student of the month. Congratulations Annabel!

Alexander Piascik works hard, and strives to do his best in all of his classes. He is always polite and kind to everyone. He always completes his homework assignments, and he actively participates in class discussions. Even though he may be quiet, he is actively engaged in learning! He has a very positive attitude when going about his daily activities. Alex is a great member of our team.

Special Areas

Vanessa Quaye always does a wonderful job singing in chorus class and all the extra groups she also performs in. When it comes to learning her music, she really shines. As a student and classmate, Vanessa displays a positive and outstanding attitude. She is always helpful to others and is so respectful. Congratulations Vanessa – super job!

Grade 7

Meera Grace Patel is a polite, kind and respectful young lady. She is noticeably hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. It is clear that succeeding academically is one of her many goals. In class, Meera is a careful listener and excellent student, and she models this for her peers. Nice job, Meera! Keep up the great work!

Hunter Kalmus is a conscientious and responsible student. He comes to class each day prepared and ready to learn. Hunter’s great sense of humor and positive attitude make him a pleasure to be around. He is friendly to both his peers and teachers and is respectful of everyone in our school community. Congratulations on being selected as a Student of the Month, Hunter! It is well-deserved.

Sophia Azevedo deserves to be recognized as Student of the Month for January, 2024. Sophia is so helpful to her peers. She is a good friend when someone is out sick and will help explain classwork he/she missed. Sophia is very pleasant to be around and is someone who can cheer you up when you are having a rough day. Sophia includes everyone and her kindness does not go unnoticed! Congratulations for being a standout student at CJH!

Special Areas

Caiden Gerstner is a great kid who works hard in class and is always eager to try the activities we do for each unit. He is always polite, asks questions when he doesn’t understand, and is always willing to help out! Congratulations to Caiden!

Grade 8

Max Bourque is a hard-working student who is committed to academic success. He is patient, thoughtful, honest, courteous, and kind. He comes to class prepared with a willingness to participate and a positive attitude. He treats his classmates and his teachers with respect, and puts forth his best effort each day. Congratulations, Max!

Jayden Hopper is a modest, intelligent, polite and respectful young man. He is a studious, insightful, attentive and diligent student who is self-motivated and works consistently to achieve his best. Jayden makes thoughtful contributions to class discussions. He is a responsible young man who is quietly accountable for the rigors of 8th grade. He demonstrates a high level of maturity and is a quiet leader who leads by example.

Special Areas

Tara Solanki is a creative and motivated student. During her time in art, she continued to ask thoughtful questions and utilize the feedback given to help her grow. The effort she applies towards her work is outstanding. She’s an exemplary student and her amazing artwork is a true reflection of the balance between hard work and creativity. Congratulations on a well deserved honor!
