The fifth-grade students at Goshen Intermediate School delved into the rich tapestry of cultures in the Western Hemisphere as an integral part of their social studies curriculum this year.
Throughout the unit, students tackled diverse projects aimed at celebrating their heritages — including interviews with family members, the creation of heritage dolls, and the development of informative tri-folds — that explored and showcased the many aspects of their unique cultures.
In a grand finale to the cultural exploration, the fifth grade organized a celebration where both students and their families were warmly invited to share a cherished tradition from their cultural backgrounds. Participants were given the choice to either present a signature dish or display a cultural artifact that symbolizes their heritage.
During this festive time of year, the Culture Fest served as a culmination of their studies, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation for the diverse heritage within the Western Hemisphere.
The fifth grade would like to express their deepest gratitude to parents and family members for their continuous support in making this a memorable event in their children’s lives!
