Pass Buses (for High School, Middle School)
The Goshen Central School District Transportation Department has
revised its Pass Bus procedure for the 2013-14 school year.
Pass Buses are available for middle and high school
students who need to stay after school for extra-curricular activities,
extra help, etc. In the past, five school buses provided transportation
home for these students and would travel, on average, 120 miles each
day. The new procedure will reduce the excessive number of miles
traveled by the five Pass Buses – approximately 21,600 miles per school
year. This will help reduce fuel and maintenance costs.
The new procedure is as follows:
Pass Buses will pick up middle and high school
students who have a valid pass at 3:10 p.m. and will transport them to
the Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School, where they will be taken home
with the elementary students.
The Transportation Department estimates that 130
middle and high school students use the Pass Buses each afternoon. The
older students will be divided among the 34 elementary school buses,
with 4-5 students riding each bus. The older students will have seating
toward the rear of the bus, separate from their younger peers.
The Transportation Department will work closely with
the middle school and high school in order to communicate which
elementary buses the older students should take once they are
transported to Scotchtown Avenue.

Transportation Director Donna Post at 615-6700.
