Dear Scotchtown Avenue School families,

Welcome to the 2008-09 school year at SAS! The summer has flown by as we prepare for the arrival of approximately 670 students. It is always exciting to see happy faces coming into school after the quiet of the summer months. We are all looking forward to a year of fun, learning and joys in each school day.

We have welcomed a number of new teachers at SAS as well as several new teacher aides. Each new staff member will enhance your child’s school day in a positive manner.

Our PTO is active and involved in many ways (both large and small) that support and enrich our students’ lives. PTO funds are used for special assemblies, family fun nights and student activities, treats for Picnic Day and for special projects each year. We hope that each staff member and family will join this extremely important organization.

Your child will learn and grow in many ways this year at SAS. If we can be of any assistance at any time, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our goal is to make school a positive and rewarding experience for students, as well as our families!
