Extra Credit |
|
There are several
ways students can earn extra credit.
Please be advised that it is up to the
student to take advantage of such opportunities. |
1. Test
Corrections
- No
student should ever have a failing test
grade with this option.
-
Students will earn half credit back for each
correct correction they successfully
complete.
-
Students will need to stay after as to
ensure their success.

2. Essay
Re-writes
-
Students can rewrite any essay that is not
part of an exam.
-
Students must stay after school to re-write
the essay so they can receive extra help.
-
Students have 3 days to stay after to
complete the re-write.
- The
higher essay grade will be the one recorded.
|
3. Applied
Vocabulary Words
-
Students can earn points by bringing in
newspaper or magazine articles, song lyrics,
books, poems, or any other publication that
has a past or present vocabulary word in it.
- The
amount of points awarded will vary.
|
4. Word of
the Week
-
Students can earn points by using the Word
of the Week in a homework assignment, essay,
or current event.
- The
word must be boxed.
-
Students can use multiple Words of the Week
in one assignment and reuse them as
necessary.
|
5. Other
Assignments
- I may
give other assignments throughout the year
but it will always be up to the student to
take advantage of such opportunities.
