Ladies
and gentlemen, Sean Colgan is YOUR Goshen Idol!
(Back)
May 11, 2010 -
Sean Colgan is your Goshen Idol! Colgan, a sixth
grade student at the C. J. Hooker Middle School,
took the title in the second annual Goshen Idol
competition, which was open to all students in the
Goshen District.
Organized by the
All Night Party Committee, more than 90 contestants
auditioned for the contest, and two judges narrowed
them down to 19 finalists for the competition on May
1.
The finalists were Ethan Garcia, Caitlin Dunlay,
Alexandria Thurtle, Taylor Crawford, Abigail
Fitzpatrick, Serena Venditto, Samantha Lombardo,
Thomas Gough, Melinda Tarulli, Madilyn Bunzey,
Kimberly Jacobi, Walter Johnson, Katherine Borin,
Jillian Lankau, Lillian Armistead, Hannah Jablonski,
Emma Jorgensen, Maria Tarulli and Sean Colgan.
The audience and judges each had fifty percent of
the votes to pick the top three. Sean Colgan, our
first place winner, played the piano and sang “100
Years” to earn the title. Second and third place
went to Thomas Gough, who sang “Soul Sister,” and
Melinda Tarulli, who sang “I Dreamed a Dream,”
respectively.
The emcees for the evening were Goshen High School’s
own Joe Pietropaolo and Nicole Frederick, who
created a fun-filled evening with their wit and
professionalism. Goshen graduate Paige Howell
performed her first single "Count To Ten" which she
wrote, and was produced by Tony Coluccia of Global
Media Music.
Goshen High School
Art Teacher Chris Tucci's students ran the lighting
and sound to create a spectacularly professional
presentation. The judges for the competition were
the very talented Tony Coluccio, producer for Global
Media Music; Christine Nichols, music instructor;
and Heidi Easterbrook, musician. Lisa Howell was the
meticulous organizer behind the event. She and half
a dozen other senior parents pulled off a
spectacular evening.
The All Night Grad
Party Committee would like to congratulate all the
performers and thank all the volunteers.
Anyone wishing to purchase a DVD of the evening for
$20 may contact Regina Eisenbacher at
