Junior Science Olympiad places eighth at States

The Junior Science Olympiad team

April 24, 2017 Goshen’s Junior Science Olympiad earned its spot as one of the top 10 teams in the state during a two-day tournament held in East Syracuse.

The team competed against 39 teams in 25 events, including microbiology, forensic and food chemistry, meteorology and optics. Their engineering capabilities were also tested by building towers, balsa wood planes, bottle rockets, hovercrafts, and energy propulsion vehicles.

The team qualified for the state finals after placing first in the Mid-Hudson Regional Competition on March 4.
