Governor Paterson releases
2010-2011 budget proposal
(Back)
January 22,
2010 - On January 19, the
Governor proposed cutting $1.1 billion in education
spending statewide in order to help compensate the
projected $7.4 billion state deficit, as a part of
his budget proposal for New York State.
According to the
Times Herald-Record, Goshen would receive
approximately $11 million in total aid, which is a
decrease of approximately $1.26 million, or 10.25
percent.
However, according
to the district’s estimated calculations, Goshen
would actually receive approximately $10.71 million
in total aid, which is a decrease of approximately
$1.43 million, or 12.6 percent. This is because
anticipated costs for Transportation are
approximately $300,000 less than determined by the
State, and since actual expenditures are lower, less
aid would be available.
